Many hospitals have vulnerable devices, an HHS official told Congress this week.

Point32Health said in a memo on its website that it identified a ransomware incident on Monday, affecting the systems it uses to service members, accounts, brokers and providers.

The new law mandates all regulatory submissions for medical devices include four core cybersecurity requirements. For one, devicemakers will now have to submit a plan outlining how they plan to track and address any vulnerabilities that may crop up once their device is on the market.
